To get the best experience on Wheatflix 2.0, your streaming device plays a huge role in performance, playback quality, and overall reliability. Below are the most highly recommended devices for Plex.

Long-term support and updates from NVIDIA
Best for users who want full customization and advanced control

Reliable Plex app support, but lacks Dolby Vision
Smaller version of the Shield TV Pro
Still very capable, supports 4K HDR and Atmos
Good mid-tier option for Android TV users
Very affordable

Great for basic use, though UI can feel sluggish at times
Supports Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and Atmos
Solid performer for Plex
Well-integrated with Google services
While Plex has apps for most Smart TVs, we strongly recommend avoiding them for daily use:
❌ Underpowered CPUs cause lag and slow loading
❌ Poor support for HDR/Dolby Vision playback
❌ Frequent buffering, unresponsiveness, or app crashes
❌ Limited codec support (especially on older TVs)
✅ Use a dedicated streaming device listed above for the best possible experience.
Your TV can directly impact how well Wheatflix 2.0 content plays back. Here’s what to look for:
✅ 4K resolution: Recommended for maximum compatibility with server media
✅ HDR / Dolby Vision support: Improves color, contrast, and overall image quality
❌ Note: Samsung TVs do not support Dolby Vision (they use HDR10+ instead)
🧠 Reminder: Your streaming device AND TV must support Dolby Vision to benefit from it.
Wheatflix 2.0 is designed to intelligently adapt content for your device:
If your TV or streaming device only supports 1080p, the server will automatically transcode 4K media to 1080p
Most of the time, this happens seamlessly
In rare cases — especially when the server is under heavy load — transcoding may cause buffering
If a video plays with green or purple color distortion, you are likely trying to stream a Dolby Vision file on a device or TV that does not support it.
This usually means:
Your device doesn't support Dolby Vision
Or your TV doesn't support it
Or only one supports it, but both are required

Scheduled Maintenance usually happens:
Saturdays or Sundays between 10:00 PM – 12:00 AM (CST)
Outages during this time are normal and last only 5–10 minutes
If the server is offline outside those times, contact Devon to report the issue
